BLUES joins the 13th Internationa Marine Biotechnology Conference in Brest (France)
This is a key event for the marine biotechnology sector, bringing together leaders and experts in the field since 1989
Summer holidays? Not a reason for our team so stop investing time into expanding our network and ensuring that BLUES gets the recognition it deserves! Case in point: several of our partners have joined the 13th International Marine Biotechnology Conference in Brest, France, on 7-11 July 2025, a key event for the sector, organised by the International Marine Biotechnology Association, bringing together researchers, students, technology actors, policymakers, and industry representatives. The conference aims to create a platform for the exchange of the latest advancements in marine science, molecular biology, engineering, and information technology, to deepen our understanding of marine ecosystems, and promote sustainable management of marine resources - after all, marine biotech is essential for innovations across a wide range of fields, including health, food, cosmetics, pollution control, and energy production.

On our behalf, Miroslava Atanassova and Maria E Brandal Berstad of Møreforsking presented results from our work on sea cucumber associated culturable microbiota and biopolymer scaffold formulations. Marina Pozzolini of Università degli Studi di Genova also conducted a presentation drawing from her work in our project.

And this is not all - Marcela Loy Martinez won the "Best Oral Presentation" award for introducing the preliminary results of her work on the Sponge Hydrobioma Technology. We are proud to see our researchers making waves (pun intended!) and we're already mapping our future opportunities to present our work!
